Rainy Day Activities

This month, we’ve got a list of rainy day activities to share with you. Rain doesn’t necessarily mean you have to stay inside. Some of our favorite hikes have happened with a slight drizzle.
We’ve focused on rainy activities this month because spring in Maine is often referred to as “mud season,” and so it seemed fitting.
Hike-
Plan for a slow, leisurely hike. Wear your rain jacket and waterproof boots. If you're expecting, you could bring trekking poles with you. If you have kids with you, the rain adds such a magical air to a hike in the woods. Some of our favorite hiking trails can be found in Harpswell and Portland, Maine.
Movie Day-
A movie day can happen either at home or the local theater. We go to the store and stock up on fun snacks, build a fort of blankets and snuggle in for a movie or two!
Craft Day-
A craft day can be very simple. We use construction paper and glue sticks to make fun creations. Or if you’re expecting, mindful coloring books for adults help relieve stress and are a lot of fun!
Gardening-
Light rain can be the perfect weather to do some gardening. We can’t put plants in the ground until May in Maine, but if you’re further south, maybe you can get started earlier.
If you have a favorite rainy day activity, be sure to put it in the comments or email us at info@arcticlynxmaternity.com. We’d love to hear what you like to do when it's wet and cold outside.
