Winter's Healing Adventures

We’ve had some epic snowfall in Maine this month and getting outside in the snow has been so energizing and HEALING! As I watched the snow fall on a recent snowshoe I felt incredibly grateful for nature, both the beauty of it and the simplicity of it.
I’ve also been focused on the health benefits of getting outdoors. Things like:
-
Reduced stress and anxiety, our bodies tend to relax in natural environments.

Boosted immune system through the dilution of viruses outdoors whereas indoor air has a higher concentration of viruses.

Sunlight can help ease depressive symptoms like low mood or fatigue.
-
Being exposed to sunlight can help you feel more tired at night and therefore improve your sleep quality.
